ASBRC Games Instructions
    2 FLAG
  • Cones at position 2 and 4 and pole at top. Rider starts with a flag and puts it in cone at position 2 and takes the flag from cone at position 4. Ride around top pole and put flag back in cone at position 4. Take out flag at position 2 and carry it over the line.
  • 3 POT FLAG
  • Empty cones at positions 1 and 5. Cone at position 3 will have 4 flags in it. Rider takes flag out of cone at position 3 and puts it in either cone 1 or 5. Repeat process to end up with 2 flags in each cone at positions 1 and 5 (can be done in any order). Once completed ride back over the line.
  • ASB
  • The rider starts with a tube labeled B and rides to the 1st pole and places the tube over the pole. The rider proceeds to the end pole collects tube S from the table top, returns to pole 1, places tube over pole. Return to collct final tube A, place over pole 1 and cross finish line. Pole 1 should read ASB from top to floor.
  • ASSOCIATION
  • Rider starts with container B, places onto bin at position 1, proceeds to bin at end position collects container S and stacks this on top of the 1st container. Rider returns to collect container A and stacks on top of 2nd container and then crosses finish line.
  • BALL IN BUCKET
  • Rider rides to end position, dismounts collects a ball, remounts and places ball into bucket a position 1. Rider returns to collect a final ball remounts and places this in bucket and proceeds over finish line.
  • BANK
  • Cone on first position with a wooden frame over it with four hooks. On the hooks number one and three zeros, red side showing. Ride up to cone, take off a number and ride up to the top pole which will have a board with four hooks on it. Must put the numbers on to read £1000 with the black side of the number showing.
  • BENDING
  • On whistle rider weaves in and out of the bending poles turns around the 5th pole and returns weaving in and out of the bending poles before crossing the finish line.
  • BENDING POSTMAN
  • A table will be placed at position 5 with a round disk placed on it. The rider carrying a bag rides to collect the disk, bending in and out of the poles on the way up and back. The disk must be placed in the bag before crossing the line.
  • BOTTLE
  • Rider collects bottle from bin at position 1, rides down arena, turns around bottom pole, returns bottle to bin in upright position before crossing finish line.
  • BOTTLE X 2
  • The rider rides to bin at position 5 and places the bottle upright on bin and returns to collect a bottle from a bin at position 1 before crossing finishi line.
  • CAN
  • Rider rides to either pole 4 or 5 to collect a can which is then placed on either pole 1 or 2. The rider returns to collect the remaining can and places this on the available pole left at position 1 or 2, then crosses the finish line.
  • CAN ON BATON
  • Rider holding a baton rides to pole 1 and uses the baton to lift the can off the pole and then rides down the arena and turns around pole 5 returning to pole 1 where the rider replaces the can using only the baton over the pole and then crosses the finish line. The can must not be held against the rider's body at any time.
  • CARTON
  • The rider collects a carton from the top of a pole, rides to the bucket and drops the carton into the bucket and continues to collect cartons singularly until all the cartons are in the bucket then returns over the finish line.
  • CONE BALL
  • Rider collects ball from cone at position 1, rides down arena, turns around bottom pole, returns ball to cone before crossing finish line.
  • EXPRESS LETTER
  • A letter is placed under riders leg by judge. The rider must not touch this letter. On the whistle the rider rides up to the top pole, goes round it and rides back. The letter must be under the leg when crossing the line.
  • FISHING
  • Rider carrying a pole with a small hook on one end rides to a bucket at position 1 and hooks a fish from the bucket, rides down the arena around pole 5 returning to replace the fish in the bucket. Rider then crosses the finish line. All fish will be placed against the back of the bucket at the start of the race.
  • FLAG
  • The rider starts carrying a flag, rides to the cone at position 5 places the flag in it, returns to collect a flag from the cone at position 1 and returns to place it in the cone at position 5. Rider then returns, collects the final flag from position 1 and crosses the finish line.
  • FLAG FLIERS
  • Cone at top pole, cone at position 1 with 2 flags in it. Rider starts with a flag and rides to the top and puts flag in cone. Rider comes back to cone at position 1 and takes a flag and rides back and puts flag in top cone then rides back to first cone, collects flag and rides over the line.
  • FLAG (TRIPLE)
  • The rider starts carrying a flag, rides to the flag holder at position 1 and places the flag in the matching coloured tube and then rides to the cone at position 5, collects another flag which the rider places in the matching coloured tube at position 1. Rider then returns for the final flag which they place in the final colour matching tube before crossing the finish line.
  • HI LO
  • Balls will be positioned on two cones, a net will be attached to the last pole. The rider rides to any one of the cones and collects a ball, which they then place into the net and then returns to collect the second ball, places this in the net before reutrning over the finish line.
  • HUG A MUG
  • Two mugs will be placed on top of a bin at the top of ring. Poles will be at positions 1 and 2. Rider starts with a mug and puts it on either pole. Ride to the top and collect a mug off the bin and put on other pole. Ride back to bin and collect mug and ride over line with it.
  • JOUST
  • Targets will be placed on the 1st and 2nd pole. The rider carrying a sword rides down the arena round pole at position 5 and returns knocking down the targets as they pass. The tip of the sword must be used to knock the target down.
  • LANCER
  • Rings will be placed on the 1st and 2nd pole. The rider carrying a sword must collect both rings, these may be collected as the rider rides down the arena around the pole at position 5 or as they return.
  • LAUNDRY
  • A piece of material and 2 pegs will be placed on the ground at position 5. The rider rides to the material, dismounts and using both pegs attaches the material to the rope at the bottom of the arena. The rider then remounts and rides over the finish line.
  • LITTER
  • A bin will be placed at position 1 with 2 litters at position 5. The rider carrying a cane rides to collect a piece of litter and then returns to drop it in the bin and then collects the final piece of litter and places this in the bin before crossing the line carrying the cane. Note the litter must not be touched by any part of the rider.
  • LUCKY DIP AND RUN
  • A pole ill be placed at position 5 and a bucket containing shavings and a hidden block will be placed at position 1. The rider rides down the arena around pole 5 and returns to bucket, dismounts, finds and removes the block from the bucket, places the block next to the bucket before running over the finish line leading their pony by the reins.
  • MILKMAN
  • An upturned bin with a crate placed on it will be at position 1, a table will be at position 5 with 2 bottles placed on it. The rider rides to collect a bottle and places it upright in the crate, then returns to collect the final bottle and places this in the crate upright before crossing the finish line.
  • MUG SHUFFLE
  • 5 poles will be set, a mug will be placed on pole 1 and 3. The rider rides to 1st pole moves the mug to 2nd pole, collects the mug from pole 3, moves it to pole 4, rides around pole 5 and replaces the mugs to original positions.
  • PEG ON ROPE
  • A pole with rope attached to it will be placed at position 1 and 5. Two pegs will be attached to the rope at position 5. The rider rides to collect a peg and attaches it to the rope on pole 1 and then returns to collect the final peg, attaches this to the rope at position 1 before crossing the finish line.
  • PEG SCRAMBLE
  • Two pegs will be placed on a tray at position 5. A pole with rope attached will be placed at position 1. The rider rides, dismounts to collect a peg and attaches it to the rope on pole 1 and then returns to collect final peg, attaches this to rope at position 1 before crossing the finish line.
  • SPELL PONY RACE
  • A T bar with four hooks attached will be positioned on the centre line, Bin 1 will be placed on the 1st position and bin 2 on the last position. On top of bin 1 will be the letters P and N (unstacked) and on bin 2 will be the letters O and Y (unstacked). The rider will ride to bin 1 and collect the letter P which they will hang on hook 1 of the T bar and then continue to bin 2 where they will collect the letter O, return to hang on hook 2, then repeat with letters N and Y so that the word PONY is spelt facing the finish line before the rider rides over the finish line.
  • POST A LETTER
  • A pole with a money box placed on top will be placed in position 1. A letter box will be positioned on the centre line and an upturned bin with a newspaper on top placed at the end position. The rider will start carrying a coin, which they will place in the money gbox before continuing to collect the paper from the bin. They must then return to the letterbox and post the newspaper by pushing it through the letterbox and must not pull the paper from the other side. The rider then returns to collect the coin from the money box before crossing the finish line.
  • POTATO (ON)
  • A pole will be placed at position 5 with two potatoes placed on the table tops. A bucket will be at position 1. The rider rides to collect a potato, places this in the bucket and returns to collect the final potato placing this in the bucket before crossing the finish line.
  • POTATO (SCRAMBLE)
  • Rider rides to end position, dismounts, collects a potato, remounts and places potato into bucket at position 1. The rider then returns to collect a final potato, remounts and places this in bucket and proceeds over finish line.
  • QUOITS AND CONES
  • A cone will be placed at position 1 and a quoit on the floor at position 5. The rider will start holding a quoit and place it over the cone, not hanging, then rides to position 5, dismounts to collect the 2nd quoit, remounts then returns to place this over the cone, not hanging, before crossing the finish line.
  • RIBBON
  • A pole with a hook attached to it will be placed at position 1 and 5. Two ribbons will be hanging from the hook at position 5. The rider rides to collect a ribbon and attaches it to the hook on pole 1 and then returns to collect final ribbon, attaches this to the hook at position 1 before crossing the finish line.
  • RIDE AND RUN
  • A pole will be at position 5. The rider rides around the pole before dismounting and running back over the finish line leading their pony by the reins.
  • RING OVER POLE
  • Poles will be placed at positions 1, 4 and 5. The poles at position 4 and 5 will have a ring resting over them. The rider rides to collect one of the rings and places this over pole 1 so the ring falls to the ground. The rider then collects the final ring, places this over pole 1 before crossing the finish line.
  • RUN AND RIDE
  • Rider starts unmounted on start line holding pony. On whistle runs to the top (pole 5) then mounts the pony as go around the pole (not before reaching the pole) and rides back over the line. For tiny tots and lead rein they will only run to a pole at position one and the pony will be there being held by the leader who will assist the child onto the pony before then running up to and around pole 5 and back over the line.
  • RUN, RIDE, RUN
  • Rider starts unmounted on start line holding pony, on whistle runs to pole one and mounts pony, then rides up to and around pole 5 retuning to pole one where they dismount and run over the line. This is the same for tiny tots and lead rein however the pony stands at pole one with leader at start and remains at pole one while the rider dismounts and runs over the line.
  • SACK
  • A pole will be placed at position 5 and a sack be placed at position 1. The rider rides down the arena around pole 5 and returns to the sack, dismounts, places both feet in the sack before running over the finish line in the sack leading their pony by the reins.
  • SACK ON POLE
  • A pole will be placed at position 1 and 5. A sack will be placed over pole 1 so that the pole is in the corner of the sack and the remaining sack hangs down the pole. The rider rides to the pole and collects the sack, rides around pole 5 before returning the sack to pole 1 so that it hangs in the same position as when started. Note the sack must not be gathered up but hang at least half way down the pole.
  • SCOOPY
  • Rider carrying a scoopy stick collects ball from bowl at position 1, rides down arena, turns around bottom pole, returns ball to bowl before crossing finish line. The ball must not be touched by the rider throughout the race. If the ball is dropped it must be scooped up using the cane before continuing the race.
  • SOCK IN BUCKET
  • Rider starts with a sock, places this in bucket at position 1, rides to end position, dismounts collects a sock, remounts and places sock into bucket at position 1 and then returns to collect a final sock, remounts and places this in bucket and proceeds over finish line.
  • STEPPING STONES
  • A line of stepping stones will be placed along each lane. The rider rides to the stepping stones, dismounts, runs across each stone without touching the floor. The rider must then touch the ground after the final stone before remounting, riding around a pole at position 5 and then recrossing the stones before riding over the finish line. Note: should any pony or rider knock over a stepping stone or should a rider step on the ground crossing the stones they must set up the fallen stones and in both cases return to cross all the stones again - even if it is the last one which has fallen.
  • STOCKING
  • A pole will be placed at position 1 and 5. A stocking will be placed over the pole at position 1. The rider rides to pole 1, collects the stocking, rides around pole 5, returns to pole 1 where the stocking must be tied around the pole. The stocking must not come undone or fall lower than half way down the pole before the rider crosses the finish line.
  • TACK BOX
  • An upturned bin will be placed at position 1. A wooden block and a bean bag will be at position 5 on the ground. The rider carries a tack box and places it on the bin, then rides to position 5, dismounts to collect an item from the ground, remounts and places the item in the tack box. The rider then returns to collect the final item, places this in the tack box, picks up the tack box by the handle and carries it over the finish line.
  • TARGETS
  • A sword will be placed in a cone at position 5 and targets will be placed on positions 1 and 2. The rider rides to position 5 and collects the sword. The rider rides back down the line to knock over the two targets before crossing the line. The targets must be knocked down with the sword facing forwards and not knocked down sideways.
  • TURNING
  • A pole is placed at position 1 and 5. The rider rides to pole 1 and turns completely around the pole before riding around pole 5, returning to pole 1 which is completely turned again before crossing the finish line.
  • TYRE
  • A tyre is placed at position 5. The rider rides to the tyre, dismounts, gets through the tyre and remounts before riding over the finish line.
  • WALK, TROT, GALLOP
  • On whistle walk to first pole (if break into a trot or canter must turn a circle). Trot from first pole to top of ring (pole 5), if break into a canter must turn a circle. Go round top pole and gallop back over the line.
